Athabasca Glacier Day 4

Sadly, today was our last day on the glacier. We used levels to measure slope of the glacier, and then Bob took us up to a moulin. Moulins drain into the basal waterways of the glacier, which means if you fall in, you don't come out. I also got my picture of "throwing javelin" on a glacier, even if it was a ski pole.

We went a bit crazy as the weather rolled in, doing handstands and backbends on the cliffs of mountains. As the rain came pouring down, we all ran out of the vans and jumped into Bow Lake, a brilliantly blue and brilliantly cold glacial lake.
