Zion Off Day

I think I appreciated Zion much more today on our off-day. A group went up to hike Angel's Landing or do some rock climbing, while I decided to wander up canyon. As the sun reached inside the canyon, the walls lit up brilliantly in colors of red and white and orange. I spent the next few hours hanging out by the Virgin River up at the Narrows, just taking in all of the beauty of the Park.

Carl leaves us in a day or so, and that concludes the National Parks segment. It has been absolutely a pleasure to be able to discover, or rediscover, the wonders of nature we have in this country. Also, knowing the geology behind the formation of the awesome wonders brings a new appreciation for them. Next, Prof. Brian Dade will take over and lead us to the great state of California.
