Today, we looked at the structure of the Moab anticline--a feature that contributes to the formation of the arches of Arches National Park. There is a large salt formation below, which exhibits different gravity than the surrounding sandstone. We drove across the anticline measuring the changes in gravity so we could map the height of the formation.
At the end of the day, we got to go climbing up a model Native American ladder (see the picture of the cliff) and then ate dinner on top of the canyon at Dead Horse National Park. The views were absolutely beautiful.
